Code of Conduct - Rules you should read   02/25/2017

      In General
Be respectful! There's another person on the other end of that conversation! The forums are a place to discuss anything related to Overwolf and beyond but want this to be a place where people feel comfortable to participate and have fun! Keep it on topic, keep it constructive - Threads should be constructive and have a clear topic. Replies to that topic should be relevant. Bumping a thread without adding relevant information is not considered constructive. Bumping a thread from a long time ago is also not constructive (Overwolf updates every 2 weeks, things change). Attacks or Accusations are not acceptable - Attacking another person is unacceptable, the circumstances are irrelevant, just don't do it. Read the topic - Know what people are talking about in the thread. Stick to the given topic and don't derail it. Search - We have a great search function, use it before you post a new thread as it's possible someone has asked your question before and there's info on it. Don't see something about your question or topic after searching? Post it! (keep in mind that bumping threads from a long time ago is not recommended, post your own). Don't post about locked or deleted topics; they were deleted for a reason. No petitions, demands or "When will.." We have places for asking for games, features and we will tell you when something is coming. We don't give dates for a reason. Don't try getting around the swear filter, it's not cute or funny. This is not a place to break NDA's, talk about something illegal or break any law from any country. We will contact the necessary parties involved and you will be pursued to the extent of the law. No spam. You will be banned and your post deleted. Please write in English. This is an international forum and we'd like everyone to be able to participate.
Bad Behavior Insults, racial slurs, profanity, vulgarity. Trolling - You know who you are, and we will find you. Nudity, porn or anything obscene. Flaming - We don't have a trained fireman on staff, so don't do it. No advertising - No one wants to buy that shirt off of you, or that WoW gold. No insulting any religion (fake, real, or imagined), sexual orientation, gender or culture. No talking about drugs or performing illegal activities. Impersonation - Don't do it, people find out and you end up looking stupid.
What will we do if you break a rule? Warnings - You get only one. Thread/Post deletion - We delete your thread/post from the forums. Suspension - Temporary forum ban. Account termination - Permanent forum ban. Legal action or report violations to the appropriate legal authorities.

  1. Hello community, i am an old user of overwolf, from Argentina... I'm going straight to the problems i found since i got back to use the client. (Sorry for my "not so good" english) 1. Problem login into my account: I wasn't able to login with my very first account into this forum so i been force to make a new one, although i could log in with my old account into the client, so i guess the client and the forums account are not directly relatives, right? (i made the "password reset" process and found out that there is no account with my email or display name). 2. Login process not secure: It's not THAT bad, but as some of my suggestions i sent privatly to the support, this point would make look (and be it) a more serious application and site. 3. Client problems detecting games: This is an old one problem that i been facing long ago and seems to continue. There are 2 kind of problems with the autodetecting and manually adding a game (supposedly supported) games like Half Life for example had been detected as 2 games (Counter strike 1.6 and Counter Strike: Condition Zero) so i manually proceed to add the Half Life game wich was no big deal, but found out that i couldn't delete those other games that are not installed or even a trace of an old install process. From the other side i found that most of games that are supposedly supported can't be added even manually, the client can't recognize the ".exe" file for the game, i even explore the folders personally to make sure that on those folder there was the ".exe" file related to the game. (most of the game i had are Steam games) So i leave a list of games that found with this problem: - PAYDAY: The Heist / Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster / Sniper Elite V2 / Amnesia: The Dark Descent / Arma 3 / Metro 2033 / Grand Theft Auto V / Alan Wake / Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Multiplayer / Just Cause 2 -. The problem seem to rely on the ".exe" name and the platform folder they are located, because games like WarThunder, wich i had on Steam folders, is not detected automatically but it can be added manually so the ".exe" file is correctly detected. In summary, there are a lot of things to adjust and i really want this app to progress in the right way cause it's so usefull, i don't wan't this app fall in the same disgrace as others apps felt, like Raptr and Xfire. I hope this information can help to solve problems and be notify of solutions to reach the objective of making a better app. Thank You. [UPDATE] Seems like some games add automatically by launching, it happened with PAYDAY: The Heist and Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Multiplayer, still can't delete those who i don't have installed.
  2. Recover password

Hi, I forgot my password on my overwolf client and I opted to recover it through the available button, this button sends me to https://www.overwolf.com/register/recoverPasword.html but the page doesn't exist anymore, 404 Page Not Found The requested resource "/opencms/register/recoverPasword.html" was not found on the server. I want to urge you to fix this I am most likely not the only one with this issue, in the mean while I would like to ask to give me the right link to the password recovery page for the overwolf client thanks in advance kevin
  3. Edit: latest update fixed the behaviour (only keeping the current + latest version of the app) Hey there, there is (imo) a big problem with the file-management of the overwolf Client regarding Apps / App-versions. If you take a look within %HOME%\AppData\Local\Overwolf\Extensions\ there are all installed overwolf-Apps located. Within the folders for every App (/ggfmakpbllghoepnmfelddbminamnbmfelbahfdp/ for example) there are folders for the corresponding APP-version. If a new version for an overwolf App is published, there will be a new Folder created with the files from the new version. But the old redundant version-folders are never removed thus creating a lot of unneccessary data-trash on the harddrive over time. There is also now indication for the user, that this is actually happening. If an App has 2MB in size and the user installed it 10 versions ago, there are already up to 20 MB unneeded data for a single app on his computer he won't get rid of until uninstalling overwolf (since uninstalling an App leaves all files for the app within the directory above, not even removing the latest version). And since every new version creates a copy of the App-files, those versions might only include a change within a single line of code creating like 99.9% unneccessary extra data. I didn't get a reaction for my last post on here, so let's see how it goes this time. Cheers
  4. I've been using Overwolf for a year maybe and this is the first time I've had any major problem with the client. I have been having issues with the client crashing when it's starting up since I updated Windows this morning. I have tried several clean installs and the troubleshooting with no positive results. I have attached my Logs for reference and I hope I can find a solution. EDIT: Observing my task manager the processes show up like they're active, but no icons or any windows showing up Log.zip
