So whats up with overwolf.games.events and Robocraft?

Recommended Posts

It looks like the update released last night was not the 'massive' API update I was hoping for.. :/

Ahh I've been super busy with work haven't gotten a chance to even play Robocraft these past few weeks! How are the updates coming? Not smoothly I take it?

I think they may have fixed the errors regarding parsing... I think...

(i.e. {Username} became {"Username"} within the data part of an event.)

Either that or I stopped being a dumbass and started JSON.parse()-ing correctly.

I can confirm these bugs were fixed:

1. Event data format (now it's serialized JSON)

2. player_killed event wouldn't fire sometimes. As far as I know now it's fixed, at least I didn't notice that any event missing

3. Events and data updates now continue to arrive to app after leaving the battle

4. Now we have all battle data (for example, we hadn't robot rankings before this patch)

Aaand now our app can know who are the enemies and who are teammates.

The events still only fire in the standard battle mode (with towers) and not in the deathmatches.

I don't have any bots designed for the Pit gamemode so I haven't tried finding events there.

Practice mode doesn't fire events either when it should be our goto for debugging. Seriously.

The robot rankings at match start were firing for me, though I was noticing some events/infos not firing 100% each time. It appears this has been fixed so far (events not being missed, that is).

The team vs enemy events were a nice addition.

There were a few other things I noticed were fixed as well, sadly not everything yet though.

Here's an updated list of the API status : link

Also, congrats on the roboteers competition o4kapuk!

I'll try to reproduce as much of these issues as I can and forward them to Seb.

Thanks )

It appears in my tests that some battle events are still being missed.

Specifically, kills and deaths from what I've encountered.

I noticed it's happening mostly when you kill someone with plasma cannon.

Informed Seb about this issue yesterday.

Hey, I have an update.

Talked to Seb, he said they're going to include the following fixes into upcoming 'Mech Legs' release (scheduled to this week):

1. Fix my_base_destroyed and enemy_base_destroyed events
2. Add events for surrenders (probably a new one)
3. Add event battle_left
These events can tell our code when battle is over
4. Add doing_cpu_damage and cpu_damage_taken events containing the CPU destroyed
5. Fix updating of gameData.mapKey
6. Probably fix missing 'player_killed' events
7. Deny commas in robot names (to samitize robotNameList)

Hi guys,

I've just updated the Robocraft events list. It'll take a couple of hours until it's up on the website, and it won't be live until the next RC patch.

Main changes are addition of general events to all game modes, and additional game mode specific events.

Sweet, the bug list was seen after all ;P

I'm assuming no word on battle events being added to TDM/Pit/Single player?

No, I just forgot to mention it.

They're going to implement battle events for TDM (probably all modes)
